Hey Amit! So sorry to hear about your condition. It's true that higher-drop shoes tend to bother knees, but have you tried the Saucony Omni? The Omni has the same 8mm drop as the ISO and it's a bit more supportive. I hope that helps. One general recommendation for any runner who has a foot condition, once you find a pair of shoes that seems to work with your foot mechanics, stock up on them!

Saucony email

Hey there! 😊 I hope you're doing well. I could really use your help. I've been experiencing acute pain in my right knee whenever I wear any other shoe except the Saucony Hurricane ISO 2. It turns out I have a flat foot and overpronation inwards.

I've tried many shoes like ASICS gel kayano and orthotics from 15 different brands, including customized ones, but they only seem to provide relief for about a week before the knee pain returns. It's quite frustrating, to be honest.

I was wondering if you could guide me towards finding the closest alternative to the Saucony Hurricane ISO 2. I think it might have something to do with the heel drop or the Everun sole they use. Even the newer versions of the Hurricanes seem to hurt my knee, so it's really just the Saucony Hurricane ISO 2 that doesn't cause any discomfort. I would truly appreciate any help or advice you can provide. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Thanks for the effort man, one of the best reviews I've read since I've been on the lookout for the right running shoes for my feet! I've had ideas about running for years xd and only in the last couple of weeks really got into it, trying on a handful of pairs and the Guide 14 were amongst them, feeling so good right off the bat, really super supportive and comfy. What you say about them is also my experience, for my feet and running experience, they were still a bit too firm. Also, I'm quite tall and average built, so the weight comes into play as well. I've now also tried on some Mizuno's (Wave Equate and Wave Horizon) and they were respectively either too firm or not enough support for my overpronating feet. So I'll have to try the Hurricane and/or the Omni, although the latter also seems a bit too firm in your experience? Also Adidas Solar Glide didn't give enough support for my feet and the Boost material felt not responsive enough. Having read all this, if you still have any other recommendations for me I'll be more than happy to explore them. Cheers !

Thanks very much for this comparison. I have run for decades in the Hurricane (currently the ISO 5) but after reading this article I am going to switch to the Guide 14!
Will try them out and see if I like them better than the Hurricane :)
